Course Description

Part 2 of this Facebook for Elected Officials series will focus on the safety of our citizenry who use social media platforms to obtain information and interact with government officials. The presentation will expound best practices for creating a safe, responsible and effective platform that serves and protects our citizenry.

Objective: Participants will learn the risks and rewards of disseminating and obtaining information via Facebook and explore means of identifying, avoiding, deescalating and redirecting dangerous behaviors. They will understand important safety issues and learn some “aesthetics” that portray the Facebook platform as a safe place for our citizenry.
